On the Brink..

Shane on the Brink
Shane on the Brink

G'day, Possums....

It's entered the last week of the federal election campaign and according to the Ugly American' Murdoch's biased propaganda sheet, "The Australian" the Liarbrils are ahead 51-49, two party preferred, so the ruling rabble are very close to being another one-term wonder... well, they were less than wonderful which is why they're in the parlous position they are.

Falsely claiming the mantle of the "Steady-hand-on-the-Tiller," and wrongly claiming that they are a unified cabal the Liarbrils with claim a plan for someone called Jobson Growth.

What they consistently fail to mention is how they are going to address the 200,000 estimated job losses which will flow from their 2014 decision the decimate the car manufacturing business' across two states which is about to take full effect in a years time.

This corrupt, lying and devious ruling rabble who have been exposed for fiddling the public purse time and time again are marshalling their ultra right wing to reject any social progress that might filter through what's likely to be a very divided Parliament.

I fully expect large demonstrations will be starting in February - March and that they will become more violent as the Neo Liberal Trickle Down insanity becomes more apparent and social services are cut whilst business' are gifted the proceeds. The wealth divide in this country is at the widest its been in 75 years..... and this will only lead to one thing , increasingly violent reaction.

Closer to the home burrow, one of our local candidates (Nationals) and councillors Paul Tatchell has taken up the quill again to rant maliciously about the evils of socialism in language which frankly sounded like a pastiche taken from the boozy ravings of a drunken and  bitter slag-fest in the corner of some dingy pub.

My reply..., dunno whether it will be published, was:....

"It was so entertaining to again read Tatchell in full flight: to re-imagine the snarling twisted visage , quill clenched in bunched fist as around the sneering frothing lips the furiously flicking tongue scuttles with the feverish eyes darting to and fro as the torrent of bile, misinformation  and frankly, visceral hate for anything which might suggest "Social Contract" is poured into public consciousness.

What a pity though, that the National's candidate seems to think that by acting in the public interest by closing down the toxically polluted Fiskville training facility the Labor Government is harming the community by actually protecting its fire-fighters.

What a pity the National's candidate is not as forthcoming as to the complicit under-the-carpet tactics of CFA management of the time in seemingly sidestepping this issue.
Perhaps this article might elucidate the public:

 http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/cfa-executives-failed-fiskville-trainees-on-safety-committee-finds/news-story/

What a pity this National's candidate wrongly conflates this with the long term  troubles at Bacchus Marsh Hospital (currently being addressed by the State Government) by suggesting without evidence, it is somehow "under threat."

What a pity the National's candidate in his rabid support of the politicisation of the CFA ignores the real social damage this will do to what is essentially a "social" grouping for the benefit  of disparate communities.

When the next "subs" collection is due, can the National's candidate advise whether I should sign the cheque to "Parakeelia" or just Liberal Party HQ?"

I said years ago that this was increasingly becoming a divided nation where the selfishness of the "Aspirational Bogan" will claw away for any advantage and spit to hell anything called the "common good."

One of the most egregious examples of this self-serving  individualism was the wife of a Sydney shares trader who with a friend, using their insider knowledge defrauded their firms and clients to the tune of $1 1/2 Million to "top-up" their already wealthy lifestyle.
This wife of one of the pair who wouldn't admit guilt and was facing sentencing opined (she's a PR hack) that her boy shouldn't face jail 'cause it really wasn't all that serious and besides, "...no-one was hurt." She was supported in her contention by that well known purveyor of Orwellian Truths "The-Coots-With-Queer-Ideas-From-a-Parallel-Universe", the IPA.
It would seem that the cupidity which lead to the GFC, the bankers who caused such loss and suffering, being let off because "they were too big to fail" and then joked publicly about their "bonuses" has permeated the lower depths.

for all the wrong reasons

Shane with the Money

G'day Possums,

It came to my attention t'other day that I knew a damned sight more about Liarbril Party slush funds, money laundering techniques, backhanders and other assorted dodgy dealings than I did their policy's! I knew about "Parakeelia," "The Millenium Foundation," "The Wentworth Foundation." But I don't know, besides chipping off and then selling the bits privately, what the Liarbril's actually intend doing with Medicare.

Doctors around the Nation are actively opposing what they say is its destruction whilst "Truffles" says it's all a scare campaign by Labor and they'll "Never, Ever sell off Medicare!"

Like, we'll never ever get a GST, either!

Then, their candidate keep going up in smoke and /or are "outed" mostly for things and reasons you wouldn't necessarily think desirable in a candidate.

Despite Jermyn's embarrassing performance at the May 28 Shorten event – where he clashed with journalists after failing to articulate the Coalition's health policy – the Liarbril Party decided to keep him as its candidate.

Y'see, The Talented Mr Jermyn had set up this online phot comp. In a presentation to US investors in April 2012, Mr Jermyn predicted huge success: up to 40 million participants and 441 million photographs from across the US, Britain and Australia alone. And revenue of $24 million.
"Shutterbug Millionaire is not an epic reality TV competition yet but we're going to make it feel like one," his presentation confidently declared. But then something went horribly wrong. Shutterbug Millionaire missed its launch date and Mooter went quiet until January 2013, when the company suddenly announced a trading halt. A few days later it went into voluntary administration.
In its 2012-13 annual report, Mooter announced losses of almost $10 million - leaving it with just $15,000 in cash. In May 2014, Mr Jermyn was appointed to the Mooter Media board. In November that year, he and his fellow director Jacob Khouri - son of colourful Melbourne businessman Leo "The Gun" Khouri - were sent a letter informing them Mooter had breached a long list of ASX listing rules.

Mr Jermyn left the company the following month to pursue his political career.
And where did the rest of the $15 million of Shutterbug Millionaire go?

Another Coalition candidate has quit after it emerged he owns a Frankston brothel called Paradise Playmates. "These are false allegation. Completely false. I don't know why they are being spread by email," Mr Hsu told News Limited.
The Liarbril Party had previously described Mr Hsu as a "passionate supporter of small business...has dis-endorsed his membership, too.
Paradise Playmates has made headlines before - Victorian authorities found a Chinese woman hidden in a secret cavity in one of its walls in 2013.

House and Garden
House and Garden
Fresh from being dumped by the Australian Defence Force, Canning MP Andrew "Handy" Hastie has been exposed breaching parliamentary rules by failing to declare an $870,000 house he bought in March.
The former SAS soldier-turned Liberal MP’s failure to declare the property on his Register of Interests on time means he could be found guilty of “serious contempt” of Parliament.
It comes days after the revelation he was booted out of the Army Reserve for defying a Defence request to remove photographs of him in military uniform from election campaign material.
Any changes to an MP’s interests, including gifts or property purchases, must be reported within 28 days according to parliamentary rules
However, the House was dissolved on May 9, meaning Mr Hastie still breached the rules and went 52 days without trying to declare the property. The former troop commander said he took full responsibility for the delay.
“Due to an oversight, an update to my Register of Interests was not submitted on time,” he said. “I did write to the Clerk of the House of Representatives to advise him of this change in May.”
If Mr Hastie is reported to the Committee of Privileges and Members’ Interests and is found to have knowingly not reported, he could be found guilty of “serious contempt” of the House of Representatives.

Seems "Handy Andy" has trouble following orders!

Not a nice picture is it, The Myth of Liarbril Fiscal Rectitude allied with corrupt practices and an appalling sense of what to foist on the public as a candidate makes "The-Ruling-Rabble" such a shambles.

Breaking Through...

Shane Breaking Through
Shane Breaking Through
G'day Possums,

Well, at the beginning of Week 5 after a truce of sorts in week 4 the breakthrough has happened: though only slightly, the ruling rabble have fallen behind in the polls and their pretend leader "Truffles," popularity is also trending down.

So much so that he has put out a cloying little piece of hagiography extolling the humility and tribulations from his early life to where he made his Cayman account fortune.

I wouldn't doubt that this will only provide further material for the satirists, as the privilege of having $300,000,000.00 and believing only in "The-Free-Market" sort of precludes any real contact with the world of the other 92%. But that remains to be seen.
#‎LNPliar‬ ‪#‎auspol‬ ‪#‎ausvote‬... it's started within an hour of release...

He also showed what a democratic fellow he was by not only turning up to a celebratory fundraiser for far-right Adelaide fruit-loop, Cory "Bestiality" but also visiting the Once-Tardis State of Victoria, to fan the flames of dissent among some volunteer "fireys" having a "spontaneous" demo about all things UNION!

Pelicans Demonstrating, not flying
Pelicans Demonstrating, not flying
A hundred or so CFA volunteers and their professionally "hand-made" signs all extolling the same theme: Union, "BAD," "Free Labour "GOOD  went rallying against..... what? "We're afraid we'll be taken over by the union!"
How?
Well, no-one has yet been able to explain that.
All 1100 brigades? Or is it just a relatively minor dispute about the running of the 35 mixed outer suburban stations and a rather interesting set of ambit claims?
The Liarbrils had been stalling on dealing with this (and at the cost to the household fire levy of $21,000,000.00,  2011-14) as they did with the Ambo's and have now conveniently whipped it up as a distraction for their barrenness of policy at both State and Federal level and the fact that their polling is sliding?

Matty, "What's-a-Green-Wedge" Guy' with smarmy IPA smiles behind Truffles at the circus said it all.... whose "surprise" visit,  playing the defender of the working class was just too-too Herald-Sun, "Ugly American" Murdoch press to be believed!
Pity that the poor applause and many folded arms for Truffles was a trifle telling.
Who wrote this farce, Blot-on-the-Landscape, Bolt?

CFA volunteers should be careful they're not being misled into another "Truffles Turdball,"  Godwin Grech moment of farce.

Merimbula
Helping the cause of confusion and lack of clarity in this matter was "Un-Environment Minister",  Hunt who opined on radio that if the CFA is "forced-into-a-deal" by the unions and Labor won office, electricity prices will go up and it will be the end of civilization as we know it ,  although even though he didn't seem to know any detail about this EBA, "they're doing a deal, they're doing a deal!" was his strident message.

Froth and Bubble
Froth and Bubble
He was less concerned at the news of Chinese being brought in on 457 Visas to take Australian jobs as this was probably part of the Liarbril's Jobs'ngrowth scheme as an adjunct to the Free Trade Deal with China and he couldn't provide answers to the questions put as that only distracted him from being "On-message, on-the-same-page and singing- from-the-same-song-sheet" and his normal irrelevant self.

Things is Hottin'-Up now.... the fireworks are about to be set off... I think the stink of funk arises from the conservatives....and Psst... we have a new local candidate. A possibly delusional one; well, he's called himself the "Bolt -of-the-West" an ex councillor and scribe for local rag, is running as a "National." I assume it's only to provide preference votes for the Liarbril candidate against Labor's Shadow Health Minister, Catherine King.... more later...

Hoo-roo Petals,

Shane.
