G’day Petals,

It’s been quite cold around the burrow this past week as the pics will show and some more images from Queenscliff and 

Wombat droppings; the chronicle of this Wombat's country's demise and of it becoming nothing more than a hole in the ground provider of raw material to the lowest bidder.

There is a tourist rail line at Queenscliff and this pretty little 0-6-0 Tank Engine is one of the workers. Built in Kilmarnock, Scotland in 1919 by Andrew Barclay and Son's Caledonia Works its name Pozieires resonates this August in memory of the conflict begun today 100 years ago.

Slippery Pete, remember him?  Well he was finally found guilty of defrauding the Commonwealth of around $1,000.00. 

As a dish best served cold, revenge is what the Liarbrils excel at…it is wonderful how they, Caligula like, eat their bastard offspring.

Of course “Rabbutt-the-Hun’s” rortings various of nearly $100,000.00 from the public purse was allowed to be paid back, incurring no penalties once the “error” was made known….ahhh, the age of entitlement…not yet ended...... let’s not look at their air-fares either!

Although it’s odious to compare human suffering, between “Rabbutt-the-Hun’s” reaction to MH17 and the recent reports of life, in particular the children’s on Christmas Island  there is an appallingly large gap.

It’s a bit of an ask to play the “statesman hero” for sending children mad.

Julie “Death Stare” Bishop whilst basking in the praise coming her way for her mostly sober demeanour in her handling of the MH17 murders has been silent on a number of other fronts, not just  “… Labor’s extravagant UN Security Council bid… has distracted from core foreign policy interests…” Which she babbled about back in 2010 but a position that is now giving her a platform of some gravitas.

She has been silent on Gaza, the piracy by Morrison of the 157 Tamil asylum seekers, the death in detention on Manus Island of Reza Barati and has said nothing about Australia’s flouting of International law.

It is interesting to note that Peter ”Rottweiler” Reith and Andrew ”Blot-on-the-Landscape” Bolt both thought that the shooting down of MH17 “…was a positive for Abbott.”

The saddest part of "Rabbutt-the-Hun's" sycophant's over-strident extolling of his "leadership" on MH17 was just that, their pathetic stridency.

His first 10 months Prime Miniature-ial performance has been so abysmal that anything that looks like coming within coo-ee of a normal person's response is deemed worthy of the most fulsome, ranting praise.  If anyone needed a clearer example of the metaphor of the "Emperor having no Clothes", then this episode must be it.

It is also a sad but timely reminder that institutionalised cruelty to refugees is a bi-partisan activity primarily led by a nation whose core values are those of the selfish Aspirational Bogan. Liarbrils led by the IPA, rejoice in there being no social contract and Labor hasn’t the balls to stand up to the Murdoch fuelled Bogans with real leadership.

It is difficult to see a happy future for this selfish, myopic, divided country.

A couple who had paid a Thai surrogate $16,000.00 to bear them a child, on discovering that one of the twins born had “Down’s Syndrome” decided to return to Oz with only the “good” one. Baby as commodity… not 100%?  Leave it in Thailand….Selfish Aspirational Bogans?

“The Ugly American” Rupert “Phone-Hack” Murdoch’s rag in Oz “The Australian” was working itself into a righteous lather because they allege a left wing group, “New Matilda”, hacked into the computers of design school to get info on Frances Abbott’s dodgy scholarship … No-one’s sure if they were just miffed at being copied in their info gathering techniques or just pissed-off that they hadn’t done it first.

Senator Erich”Vichy” Abetz has had everyone, including the Business Council of Australia, rolling in the aisles with the floating of yet another brainless and unworkable theoretical thought bubble from “The Coot’s–With-Queer-Ideas-From-a-Parallel-Universe,” (IPA). This one had the 700,000 unemployed making 40 job applications a month for the 165,000 jobs available.

 Abetz saw nothing idiotic in this.

Neither did John Roskam, Head Plonker at the IPA.  He thought it socially responsible and that $0.50 per hour would be a good pay rate, too.

La-la, la-la, La-la, La-la, Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

And let’s not mention their “ideas” for higher education…. or Health … or shipbuilding, …or cars… or alternative energy… or environment… or law…or financial rectitude or industrial relations because that way only invites deep depression.

The Tardis State “Where-All-Goes-Backward” is rolling along Grand Prix like (around in circles) toward an election…offering to bring in legislation (possibly in the near future or by “The Rapture”, whichever comes first) banning outdoor smoking in eating areas. The Liarbrils had voted this down a year ago because a ”Green” had thought it up.

Louise “Dozy” Asher woke long enough for the Grand Prix contract re-signing to give Bernie Ecclestone and Ron Walker, Squillions of dollars of taxpayer monies to pollute the air and ears around Albert Park for another five years thus keeping the Bogans sated and not thinking about the $8,000,000,000.00 Tunnel to No-Where without a business plan they are going to pay for.

Pretend Premier Dennis “Do-Do” Naptime, (Genus: Inutilus Rusticus), has been kissing horses for their birthdays hoping they will vote for him and forgetting that this Vet thinks Jumps Races, are a good thing like shooting protected wild-life and clear-felling forest to make bushfire so much more devastating…..

 “Do-Do” is also proclaiming “We have a Vision, Liarbril Good, We have a Vision…. Labor,Bad ” a lot!

It might be looking backward but you have to concede…. it is a vision… isn’t it?

10.15   Mayhem for Murdoch’s Minions.  Enthralling and long running UK Court-Room drama exposing and detailing the lives, tribulations and trials of amateur journalists’ Andy and Beccy who “Apprentice-like,” try to anticipate their Master’s (The Ugly American) every wish.

This week: “The Verdict.” The prosecution lawyer in “Mayhem” shows admirable restraint at the Beccy’s verdict. His quietly acerbic, "She was paid an awful lot to be very incompetent..." is a moment to watch.

If the Poms as punishment, transport her Down-Under, it can only be as payback for “Rabbutt-the-Hun” having Downer seek asylum in Britain, not because the “Australian” needs more receptionists.

It was a day of just meandering about the Nievre district of Burgundy and making little discoveries like the ruins of the Chateau de Passy les-Tours which figures in Jeanne d’Arc’s siege of la Charitie in 1429.....

Wombat Droppings or Low Down Politics in Oz

Prime Miniature “Rabbutt-the-Hun’s” muck-raking Royal Commissions are not quite working out as he and his malevolent rabble had planned.

It is difficult not to come to the conclusion they are just monumentally vindictive political exercises and a gross waste of money.

The case of the “investigation” into the Unions particularly, is more likely to bite back at the accusers. The fact that police had been informed of certain activities and have not acted; then comes the statement to the Royal Commission that inducements were offered to “Get Gillard”… and the Royal Commissioner who is investigating events of 20 years ago says that this evidence from 5 years ago is not relevant! Or that the ruling made by the commissioner relating to cross-examination of witnesses bears more resemblance to “ordeal by fire” or “Ducking.” 

All would seem not relevant to what appears an a-priori judgement and a serious diminution of the standing Royal commissions can have.

The Sharks are circling main witness Kathy Jackson.... and "Phone-Card" Reith may be in the water, too... anyone smell blood yet?

Another bad look was “Slippery” Pete’s accuser James “He Spoke to me, He Spoke to Me” Ashby deciding not to press his case in the High Court as it appeared it was going to open a real can of worms for both Chwissie “The-Whyne-and-Perfect-Prat-of-a-Prefect” Pyne and the other player in this malicious saga, Mal “The Mongrel” Brough. How does an ex DJ get a law firm to waive/absorb its $1,000,000.00 fees? How is he going to pay for Slipper’s costs that are likely to awarded against him?

Remember the fabled Labor Budget Crisis?  Well Joe “Cereal-Toyota” Killer has made a real Liarbril one in his first and only budget… a real doozie!

The Banking boys are now saying confidence within the community is so bad that it is impacting on the economy. That, if “real” people are fleeing retail and are saving more as they become more aware of the huge shift in costs in health care as Medibank is dismantled and pensions eviscerated with unemployment going up when education is being slashed then the merde is really hitting the fan.

Mrs Wombat opined t’other day that the increase in Uni fees just might be to the detriment of private schools. Parents having to make a choice between an expensive secondary education for their social standing and a very expensive tertiary one for their children’s future, may well choose the latter as giving their children best opportunity.

When this comes to pass it will be wonderful to see how these Liarbril, wrongly self proclaimed, “superb-economic-mangers” will argue away the private school school bleatings about having to fold up and go bankrupt for lack of clients and the remaining State schools are screaming in need of more funds for their sudden intake of “privilege”.

Then, hearing a right-wing financial commentator on radio express similar thoughts, you really do know…

On Q & A, last week (16^th) the final question of the night to Dee Madigan, Author and Advertising person…”Dee Madigan, if you could offer one solution to turn around the un-sellable budget what would it be?" Dee Madigan, "You can't. It's shit!"

The “right’ seem like socially undeveloped children; terrified that someone is taking away their toys by welfare distribution.

Defence Minister, “What’s-‘is-Name” has decided that another way of eliminating Unions is that tenders for new Naval craft will only be offered to Spain and Korea, as our shipbuilding facilities are A/ not big enough and B/ we are not competitive enough. That this will cripple the shipbuilding workforce is of no concern to “Rabbutt-the-Hun” our “Infrastructure” Prime Miniature.

Then there was the news that security had been beefed up around the main suspects.... Abbott, Hockey, Pyne and Bishop and a demonstrator threw himself at Bishop's car hitting it with his banner... causing "Rabbutt" to bleat "How Un-Australian.." it all was... conveniently forgetting his own putting his fists through the wall, either side of the head of a woman who had defeated him in a student election....bloody hypocrite!

Let’s not mention the Middle Eastern mass Diplomatic response to West Bank name changes or paying a sliding scale to have refugees go back to their strife-ridden countries or “Tardis” State (Where-All-Goes-Backward) Pretend Premier Dennis “Dodo” (Genus: Inutilus Rusticus) Naptime giving the Chinese $25,000,000.00 for processing Brown Coal and limiting Solar and Wind energy!  This, at a time when Germany is 70% renewables in its country’s electricity production!

G’day Possums,

T’other day I was sorting through some images from the French trip and came across a church the name of which I had no record of. It was a stop on our way from one Gite in Vernueil Moustiers  to another in La Charite-sur-Loire.

We had, after leaving V. Moustiers early, stopped off at the Priory at Orsan; a place discovered very early in the researching of the trip and looking well worth a visit. The church in question was photographed some twenty five minutes after leaving Orsan so I thought it wouldn’t be too difficult to locate by checking through all the Eglises noted in the Michelin map book that could be approximately 25 minutes away from Orsan to the East and North East and google-mapping the villages.

Well Petals…. A day later I finally found it. It was South East at Le Chatelet!

A  beautiful C12th church, unfortunately closed, so no interior shots but wonderfully persevered detail in the decorative carvings.

Mrs Wombat sensibly had kept a diary of events  (I didn’t…… dumbo…) and some looking through that for clues had me thinking “Well, this time last year we were in….”

Clive Palmer says he is going to run for a seat in Federal Parliament… what does six-billion-dollar-man want with parliament? 
Why, his own way of course.

He said he would look after the Australian people… which is why he’s contracted the Chinese to build his replica of the Titanic.

Christopher Pyne ( Liabril whiner) had a 2 hour drinky-poo’s with the gay staffer who is accusing Slippery Peter of sexual harassment; a month before the allegations were made… hmmm shades of Godwin Grech?

Peter Reith has been popping up more frequently of late: Liarbrils must think they are an absolute shoo-in for the next election if that disgraced and discredited has-been can get an outing on Q and A;  He was a panellist with Sophie Mirabella.

“In 2007, Ms Mirabella earned the dubious honour of being one of only a handful of government MPs to be kicked out of the House of Representatives when the Liberal government was still in power. 
She continually interjected a Labor MP who raised concerns about a $15,000 donation given to her support group by British American Tobacco. 
The member for Indi stayed out of trouble for four years, before making headlines in March by calling Deputy Prime Minister Wayne Swan a “bag-man”. 
Since then there have been a flurry of indiscretions. 
Ms Mirabella has been booted out of the chamber five times in 36 parliamentary sitting days — twice in March, once in July and twice this month”.

Another in-ya-face Pit-Bull of a Liarbril is Kelly O Dwyer… why are the women in this party so rudely aggressive and offensive? 
Does it say something about the political party they are members of or is it that they just lack all grace?

I think I’m close to re-defining what a real Bogan is.

The sense of crisis the Liabrils are generating is taking it’s toll of the government and Labor will probably be wiped out at the next election; but funny thing is, they are actually governing pretty well… policy settings have maintained a stable economy and they haven’t been radical in their affairs. Except for asking the Miners to pay taxes…. The mud that’s been thrown is sticking and this boorish electorate is being taken in by Mr Rabbit’s spin. 
He will take them for a ride they wont forget in a hurry.

On the Victorian Front … Baillieu slashes public service jobs and TAFE funding but builds more prisons … that should help us all! 
At least his Minister, Peter Hall said it was a shit policy decision… and fines have been upped by 12%… there have been calls for civil disobedience …. by not breaking the law! And he's upped parliamentarians "super" by 25%... (tings are tuff...)
